CALIFORNIA COMPLIANCE
Designed for California's Current Pool Heating Requirements
California’s current pool-heating requirements affect how new and newly heated swimming pools can be heated. Beginning January 1, 2026, gas-only pool heating is no longer permitted for new or newly heated pools under the applicable requirements.
Homeowners can consider renewable heating solutions, including solar thermal pool systems or compliant electric heat pumps. If the heat-pump option is selected, a solar thermal system must also be installed that will provide at least 65% of that pool’s annual energy needs.
Adding heating to a previously unheated pool can also trigger applicable requirements. Eco Solar helps homeowners understand their pool heating options and consider solutions designed around California’s current requirements.
